Artists Self Publisher's Fair - sex+ and humanzine

sex+ - a magazine sharing real stories and rewriting narratives about sex. Come to our store to see the magazine, buy the magazine, hear readings and participate in discussions and workshops (see timetable).

humanzine - an interactive zine experience designed to mimic the Human Library in zine form. Choose the humanzine that you want to read from a library of zines. Sit with the creator to interrogate their story, co-creating the narrative of the zine as they jot down the details from the particular chapters of their experience that you have chosen. Create a zine (or two) and then be read in the workshop followed by reading session at 3 p.m.

Schedule for the Sex+ and humanzine Zoom room:-

(Not suitable for those under 18 years old)

The space will be kept safe - people shaming others, behaving inappropriately or displaying disrespectful behaviour will be asked to leave. All sessions will be facilitated by Phil Moore, an experienced integrative therapist and somatic sex educator, also editor of sex+ magazine.

2pm Open for business - come in for selected readings from the sex+ magazine. Also an opportunity to purchase sex+ magazine at a special low ASP price of £6.50 (including P&P).

3pm humanzine workshop - the sex positive edit.  First you will create your own humanzine(s), then you will read or be read by others.

We will be using the vehicle of the humanzine to get real about issues that we have encountered around sexuality in our lives. This is a forum for sharing not shaming.  Materials needed - A4 paper, pens, marker pens (optional), string. You are welcome even if you don't have the materials, we'll help you improvise or you can be a reader.

4pm Sexuality Tea - Bring your cuppa for a round table discussion prompted by random dips into sex+ magazine. Pop in or hang out for the duration.

5pm Ask the Sexpert Q&A - Bring your questions, get them answered. As a sexpert I get asked lots of questions, whether at an event or picking up a few bits in Sainsbury's, I've pretty much heard it all in the weirdest of places. Every question is unique but there are some underlying themes so we can explore them here. Due ot poor sex education, societal shame and feeling that you're the only person with 'that' problem, there is a lot of agonising and misinformation about sexuality which causes much unhappiness. Bring your own questions or listen as I address some common themes like - what to do if there is something 'wrong' with your body, how to increase pleasure, desire and orgasmic capacity, how to have difficult conversations about sex, how to ask for (and get) what you want. If you want to submit a question anonymously before the event, just submit it to me at philmooretherapy@gmail.com

6pm Open for business - come in for selected readings from the sex+ magazine. Also an opportunity to purchase sex+ magazine at a special low ASP price of £6.50 (including P&P).
